Days on the beach with our feet in the sand
The sun on our face, walking hand in hand.
The waves gently flowing up to the shore
These are the memories that daddies are for.

Sleeping peacefully, as you rock in your chair
Your breath softly sweeping through my long hair.
My thumb in my mouth, a smile on your face
I could never imagine being any other place.

There were days when we'd mingle out in the shop
Two very wise carpenters just doing their jobs.
I'd watch, as you worked, just building away
Following in your shadow  without a word to say.

You'd even take me hunting when ever you would go
Although this little mouth was quite the talking pro.
I may have scared the deer away more times than few
But it didn't seem to matter because I always went with you.

Days spent with daddy were diamonds and gold
In this little girls' heart she will always hold.
Now many miles between us, time is made few
I wish for one more day to walk hand in hand with you.

The times we use to share are branded in my heart
Memories lie deep within, they shall never part.
I keep them alive with thoughts everyday
Of my wonderful daddy in his own special way.
