As I turned to face the ocean
Chills traveled down my spine
Was it you I saw by the shore
For just a brief moment in time

Closing my eyes to clear them
Ne'er had they failed me this way
In disbelief I shut the blinds
Without a single word to say

Flopping down on the edge of my bed
Throwing my chin in my hands
For so long now, you've been gone
So, whom on the shore did stand

Standing back up firmly on my feet
For the view of the ocean so sublime
Forcing myself to glance once more
For just a brief moment in time

The view was more reassuring this time
For it was the ocean I did see
Nothing along the sandy, white shore
Just the waves crashing ever peacefully.

My curiosity still aroused by what I saw
My heart just misses you that much
If only for just a brief moment in time
I would give anything to feel your touch.
