I feel tethered
As though I cannot do right by
Those who judge me
And yet
Who are they to judge
My choices
For I make my own choices
I own my freedom of words
Of self expression
I am a beacon
For those who resonate
For my light shines through
Those darkest nights
And my darkness encapsulates
Those emotions for which
We are most shamed
I am angry
I am sad
I am luscious
I am pure joy and love
I am all of these at once
For my emotions span greater than 88 keys
All of which I yearn to play
Let me play
Says my body
Let me play
Says my Empowered Goddess within
I will show you
The truth
