I walk along the avenue every day
Right up to my street
Then a voice calls behind me
It sounds familiar and it sounds so sweet

"Hello, how are you? Did you miss me? It's good to see you again!
I'm sorry for the way things turned out"
Well baby I tell you it's no skin

It's no skin, no baby
Off of my hide
It's no skin baby
But it sure was a ride
Things happen for a reason
And it might be a sin
But its no skin

I stroll into work
And I'm running late
A voice yells behind me man
And things don't look too great

"Boy I tell you
Just one more
If I catch you late again
I'll send you out that door"

Its no skin, no boss man
Off of my hide
It's no skin no boss man
And it's not worth the fight
There's plenty of other places
That would let me in
So it's no skin man

I get home from work
And I wanna lay my head
My landlord is a drag
And has other plans for me instead

"You're late on your rent
You know I can kick you out
But I'll give you one more chance
For you to figure it out"

It's no skin, man no
Off of my hide
It's no skin man, I tell you
I'll get along fine
I could end up on the street
And God knows what I'd do then
But its no skin man
