Being raised in a church since I was 7 years old and living in a religious small town no one ever told me about bisexuality, gays and lesbians. I knew they existed and I knew my mom was disgusted by them. I became close friends with bisexual girls and a gay guy in college that's where I learned who I was then I did research on it. I learned the Bible passages that were against homosexuality were out of context and being gay actually isn't illegal. Though my mom is still against anyone that isn't straight and my Christian friends still don't know that I am bisexual because I am not ready to be public about my sexuality yet. My church is still Ignorant of people who are different from them. There is nothing demonic about the lgbtq community. They are just weird, kind and compassionate people who accept that they can't change their sexuality. My church's Ignorance of the Unknown is why I don't agree with their patronizing ways.
