In a dark sordid world
She sat all alone,
Alone in the corner
She could never call home.

Strange was the land
And the voices around
Strange were the lies,
The contempt that she found.

Strange were the faces
Of the unknown ones.
Terrified was she to see
What she too had become.

Running in circles,
To and fro.
Bound by the walls she'd built
She had no where to go.

And then she saw light
Brighter than any she'd seen before
A light so familiar,
So comforting and sure.

And then she saw light,
Through the cracks of her wall
Shining through, to reach her
Cushioning her fall.

And she rose from her corner
Knowing she no longer was alone
And then she saw light
And she knew she was home.
