Tonight I Close My Eyes
My heart restrained
Locked behind these bars
No escape from torture
No freedom from the walls
A life so bitter, so angry
Falling to my knees
Lots of air to fill my lungs
Though I refuse to breath
Captured in hell
Longing for my death
The desire to be free has set in
Now I lay my head to rest
Since death refuses to take me
My life I shall hand to thee
Cutting my wrists wide open
My blood shall set me free
The pain I feel is agony
Though such a desiring need
Falling to the ground
As I watch my body bleed
Lifeless now, unable to move
The blood creeps everywhere
Blackness becomes my sight
As in my face, death does stare
I realize now my freedom
Where it has been all along
Tonight I lay my head down
For the rest of the world is gone
My pain has eased to tolerable
As my last breath I take
Tonight I close my eyes with death
Never again to wake!!
