Time came while I was sleeping
And planted in my head
A vision of me dancing-
Passionately with Death

I woke up in a panic
and scrambled into town
But no one there, it seemed,
Could manage calming me down

I knew somehow that no one could
For no one truly understood
The dance I had with Death,
and how magnificent she looked.

Many years I spent in town, in search of better wear
Until one night, startled by sound,
I turned and found her there

Her beauty caught my gaze, her aura filled the midnight air
I strode to her and offered a dance- for what good is it to simply stare?

The gentle music surrounded us; absent of despair.
I danced passionately with Death that night-
And time wasn’t even there.
