I wish I could always feel how I do alone in the woods I run through the trees breathless Alive and awake and wild Consumed by the trees Every shade of green blinds me I listen so hard to the birds and bugs and wind that I can't hear my thoughts So free and reckless and untouched save for the the sun Some days I think the forest wants to swallow me whole and sometimes I think I just might let it To disappear in the soft emerald folds of Nature's body And just be this free wild thing It's tempting If it weren't for the mosquitos I might just never come back
