Aug 2013
the gray skies predicted the rain but the warning i shook it away,
now i call the sudden rain sudden because i don't recall the earlier events of today
the way the clear sky became clouded and the sun shifted out of sight
the evident fight in the sky trying to decide if it's night
and when the sun fought and finally won, it revealed an arc of light
at the end is not a *** of gold, it's a different kind of surprise
despite what we might think is great in this world today
everything we have learned to love, nature creates
