Your fists clenched,
Shoulders pulled back,
The trail is scattered with the bones
Of those who never made it.

It doesn’t sink in,
You’re unafraid,
Bravery is the lack of acknowledgement,
Fear is the absence of illusion.

Words,
They are simply that.

Rhinestones place themselves,
Pacing till they find the beat that suits them,
This contemporary battleground is scarred.
Barren for its lack of reason.

Whipped in, pushed out,
Leaves draw fresh scars
Across your face
Terminal yet you can still watch it flow.

Eyes open,
When everyday you had
Worked so hard to close it.

The bones were merely in memory,
You see them waving,
Laughing, passing around
Lemonade.

And your eyes light up.
A nod of your head,
The storm picked you.

Oh, well,
Irresistibility was bound to cost you something.

Screams.
