Opportunities pass
without regard for my heart
fate's the new governor
and I can't press restart

distress in the morning
intrusion at night
her smile strikes through me
when I turn off the light.

There's a parallel world
but I can't get in
when every ticket comes
with a deadly sin

five years of ponder
and tormenting reflection
a lifetime of knowing
she was the right direction.
