love
is like a falling object,
accelerating towards the Earth's surface
at 9.8 meters per second per second.

for every second you fall
you accelerate faster and faster.

for every second you are in love,
you fall for your partner faster and faster.

at the start
you fall in love with who they are
as a person,
the way they look,
the way they act.

as time passes
and your feelings grow deeper,
you fall in love
with every little thing they do,
every little quirk of theirs,
every inch of their body,
every inch of their mind,
every minute detail.

with each coming day
you fall faster
and you fall more,
but what do you do
when you reach terminal velocity?
