May 2021
Her skin glowed like ponds at dawn,
and her freckles, the mist over the water.
Her heart was bigger than the oceans of the globe,
and her eyes, as deep as the corals underwater.
Her smile ushered the magnificent waves,
and her mind, as still as the largest of lakes.
Her warmth was as much as the salt in the Red sea,
and her laughs, like the music that the ocean makes.
Her closed lips were pink like the horizons during sunsets,
and all of her beautiful aqua engulfed me.
But she considered me a mere passerby in a boat, who was always destined to drown.
