Orange peel

by KotaTea

When I first saw you my heart felt like it was being pealed open like a citrusy orange It's juices sprayed lightly onto my lips Your eyes were at first a soft foggy gray that melted to an earthy brown Your skin was a warm buttery color that toasted like chest nuts And as your hands grew to fit into mine my soul felt bonded to you As if you took a needle in the middle of night and began sewing yourself to me Our spirits like a tightly knit blanket My love for you could out grow these universes and stars And if your light died out so would mine
