If you were a diamond perfectly clear
Shining and gleaming like a broken hearts tear
If love was coal, rugged and black
Why did leave why did you come back

If I had known
iā€™d leave alone
Coal into diamond diamond to rust
Ashes to ashes
Dust to dust

Its crazy how quickly you took over my head
You sewed yourself in, silver needle laced with golden thread
Seasons come and go it all comes to an end
The prettiest flowers are the ones who wind up dead

If I had known
iā€™d leave alone
Coal into diamond diamond to rust
Ashes to ashes
Dust to dust
