Jul 2010
the sun filled terrace,
overflowing with peace,
a leafy tree above,
casting shadows
like fingerprints
softening the breeze.

what familiar embrace,
may it last for today,
to give what seems
a gentle, kind stroke
from far or unknown
maternal yet strong.

once shadows blend,
hiding they will,
the moment remains
behind closed eyes,
precious, alive,
to guide and to hold
when shadows do hide.
