Mar 2021
silently standing, trees towering above
an unkempt garden sitting under grey skies
time stands still for a moment to reflect
something that happened here
100 years ago to this Day

on a cold winters evening, Victoria meets a man
a love that's so strong, it ends in tragedy
he wraps a rope around her neck
pulling tight as she hangs in discomfort

life now vanquished, her head droops down
he removes her from the tree, to cover his tracks
Victoria is laying silently in a shallow grave
dropping a tear as he says a final prayer

"God please forgive me for what I have done
this unreciprocated love I just cannot stand
I gave her everything, all that is of me
I then fell for someone else, who was her enemy

This planning and scheming forced upon me
an evil mind, a jealous heart
this poison injected through my veins
my blood curdles as it turns black

I am not the mastermind behind this brutal act
Claudia is the one who turned me towards ******
My guilt-ridden heart has betrayed my new love
now all I feel is sorrow, I long for my grave"

Slowly, he walks away; never to look back
his mind constantly turning like cogs in a clock
he pulls out a revolver and puts it to his head
with a gentle squeeze

BOOM
