I lied down on the floor
To go to sleep
Not wanting to sleep in the bed
Because I remembered.

I put down my blanket
And flopped into the pillow
And I jolted up
More flashbacks

I remember how I made a pallet
On the floor
Too scared
To be in the same bed with you

So
I picked up my blanket
Threw it on the bed
Sat down on the floor
In the emptiness of my room
And didn’t sleep

Too scared of the thought of you.
