The disassemblage of an artichoke,
My favorite thistle.
It is a bud, waiting to bloom,
did you know?
I will never forget meeting artichokes
in the gardens of a friend's family home
in Normandy, growing widely and profusely
some blooming, some not.
I jumped around with glee
until I encountered the stinging nettle
not nearly as inviting as an artichoke.
