The stinking smell of melting rock
Rotting on your lips, between your teeth
The one diet that can get you hooked
Undo your tin foil hat for present treat.

A volcano’s mouth is belching near
Sulfur permeating from the inside out
A newbie sponsor with clogged ears
Swallowing guilt in his cloud of doubts.

Heavy weight pulling down the bottom
“The floor is lava” from brown to black
******* cement shoes, you stand in glue
And the rubber ball won’t bounce back.

The stinging needle of glass wasps
Sliding beneath your skin, into your veins
The one journey unable to fully grasp
Until your legs are brimmed with gangrene.

A busted light bulb at tip’s touch
Mosquito bites all across the appendages
A trace of wine from under the nose
Vacuuming doves that’s been pulverized.

Bronze shackles keeping you held still
The light at the end of a tunnel; the train
The one thing shining, the lighter, kills
For you’ve danced to make gasoline rain.

Trying to reach the highest of highs
You’ve fallen into the deepest of depths
The wave of “hi” is now “good-bye”
An act of faith you should’ve never leaped.
