Go ahead,
paint me in some
undesirable hue, some
small section of the spectrum
left for monsters and
lesser men

I'll wear it;
gloss me over with
your seal of disapproval,
so Time can't tarnish
this image you've
contrived

Frame your guise
of me for all the
world to see;
high on the wall,
adorned in
the trappings
of beasts,
incapable of growth
- unruly -

Consider, though,
that this screen
~wispy smoke~
which you press upon me
may be better served
shiny,
a platter for your indignation
to be feasted upon when your
hunger for ridicule can
no longer be abstained
