a stranger sleeping next to her
She lies in the corner after he
hit her and screamed, but
his touch is still the only
thing she yearns for.
She’s become dependent
on a love that can never
support her; a narcissistic
excuse for caring.
That’s the worst kind,
when the one person
you should be able to
trust, is a stranger.
Yet she stays because he’s
promised her the world, and
eternity with the wrong one is
better than forever with no one.
