Jan 2021
love in limbo
returning from another to where you are
from the hearts' hold I see you falling like a star
delicately descending into a den my hands have made
here, you secure a sense of solace til it fades
and to show my faith in fate, girl I'll wait until you wake
my lady draped in gray
for you, I'm pushin polarities through the pain
denying all disdain
less afraid to see the distance that was gauged across the plane
it felt strange cuz metaphysics made a mess of how my brain
coexists within a sane mind
I feel the tugs of love and loss at the same time
I'm not your man to have a hand to ever really explain why
nor am I politician but still catch myself playin sides
the sip of truth in that was like some strange wine
some fickle proof that trickled through and blemished what defamed my
core character and cracked the cast
a heart to have held doesn't make a whole of halves
and though it aches my back, I'll stay and wait until you ask
harborin this love to never wake you from your nap
I don't fold knowing love will take this path
reflections at the intersection left me bleeding in the back
rooted in some expectations that I never grasp
it's not fair but for air I still gasp..
it's not fair but for a pair I still grasp...
all because I care and wear a mask
