As teenagers we think of funny things:
We trust first boyfriends, run away from home,
We ask adults to buy us cigarettes and drinks
And wish to break the rules and live alone.

We claim we can’t survive without love,
Believe we cannot live unhappily and sad,
And growing up, with terror realize
We can do that.
As a teenager and a kid, for some reason, I believed that people cannot survive without love. And when I grew up, to my horror, I realized that we can. Our body doesn’t just stop breathing when our heart is broken. We are locked in our living body with our ever-thinking and suffering brain. Crazy!
