The show
Heavy curtains open fluently
Audience to be, storming cold seats
Ready to escape ordinary living
Yearning souls eager to see.
Grand performances.
Ever vivid and inviting.
Inspirational props, costumes and storyβs
Illuminating new life, neath pale lighting
Laughter and wails, echo across thin air
Throughout well rehearsed scenes.
Captivating and mesmerizing all alike
Revealing an end to the means.
The lights cut out, heavy curtains swing closed
The audience rejoice with glee
Pouring out wide doors, out into the night
Leaving the theatre to me.
Stage is mopped, props are cleaned
Everything in its position
Nightly routines and needed upkeep
Performed with familiar precision.
New storyβs and lessons put on display
To whomever pays to go
Buy a ticket, hurry to your seat
Get ready for the show.
