This shell that holds these thoughts inside can feel like such a prison
Every word that passes through can hurt with such precision
Jumbled screams within my mind cut tears through my weary eyes
If I could just come up for air, breathe the light and let it out

These thoughts they come and go like the seasons
Sometimes words weigh so heavy on the mind
So just stay right here, let the sunshine through

My beating heart should be enough
But sometimes it cannot be heard
Over the cries and screams
Inside my head
Please soothe me with your touch

I’d cry out for you in the deepest sleep
And you’ll always be by my side
To help unravel these seemingly worthless feelings
And bring me back to earth
