Dearest Mother
            Bounteous, Beautiful, Blessed,
                        Life giving, Mother

How we wonder at thy beauties,
            Then turn and defile you
Through our haze of personal satiation,
We do not feel your heart!

Pulsing, Pounding, Perfect Love,
            You give and give.
                        We do not understand.

But now I thank you,
Your mountains, rivers, fields, seas and valleys,
Your trees and flowers and deserts,
            Your beauty unspeakable!

Let me live as thou livest,
Let me remember thee in all things,
Fill me with thy Being, as I cannot be that which you are not,
I desire as dost thou, Mother, to live to give.
