HE SMIRKED AT HIS REFLECTION
IN THE TROPHIES AND THE CHEERS
SHE SAID you're not the only one
SHE SIGHED you're not the first person
                                                         this will pass
SHE LOOKED IN HIS EYES let it go

HE WEPT INTO HER CARDIGAN
BLURRED VISIONS OF BLACK AND GREY
FAINT MUSK OF DAISIES AND GRASS
SHE SAID you're not the only one
SHE SIGHED you're not the first person
                                                         this will pass
SHE LOOKED IN HIS EYES  let it go
