need any
of them

my religion

you altars
on the peaks
of the everest
· the himalayas ·
under the pacific ·
the atlantic,
and in
the corrupted
chambers
i held secret
within

but you never saw
me

and you kept looking
elsewhere · going
everywhere · to prove
mirrors can lie and i
never moved and called
this : devotion ·  keeping
the faith · waiting ·
hoping your eyes
would be so kind but to
no avail

everything was
a conspiracy
to lead you further
where you can’t hear
my prayers · much less
answer them
·
and you lived your life
thinking you were
just a man
·
but in my book
· you were the holiest
of holies
