Am I the only one who knows how you got that scar?
you tell me secrets about who you were and who you really are
you don't pretend to try to be someone you aren't right now
and someday, somehow, it'll all work out

You come sit by me for awhile, and tell me all your dreams
you want to travel far away and see everything in between
but you don't want to be alone, this is just for now
because someday, somehow, it'll all work out

if you just believe like you believed in you and me
and everything that you need will be yours again

I know its hard to be apart after everything we've known
we've seen the years just pass away like the rolling of a stone
but memories will be replaced with better ones than now
because someday, somehow, it'll all work out

You'll find someone to hold onto like you have never known
you'll see the world like in your dreams, but with a family of your own
and I'll be fine, I'll find my way, there's nothing to talk about
and someday, somehow, it'll all work out.
Written on the last day of my road trip that took me from Appleton, WI to New Orleans, LA. I wrote this while one of my best friends navigated the traffic through St. Louis, MO.
