She’s back from somewhere
I ain’t gonna ask the place
Cos it’s non of my beeswax
It ain’t left no marks on her sweet face

It’s like time stood still from the day we last met
She’s older and wiser maybe and yet
Tho I know I’ve ripped the heart right out of me
And carved these lines for all to see
She can still see the soul in me
That I haven’t had chance to get to yet
She could save me if she had a mind to
She could turn it all around if her heart was set in me
I dare not ask
Or even
Pray
All I know
Is that today
She made me smile
