I’ve crossed the world a dozen times
By wing and wheel and wave
I’ve woken up in strange girl’s beds
Fallen asleep in caves

I’ve sung my songs in brothels
And watched rich men leaving poor
I’ve taken virtue in my home town
And I’ve taken it in your’s

Only that you came
But in every place I get to
Whether from below or above
I’ll ask the barman
‘Kindly sir’
For another shot
Another shot of love
Give me one more chance at love
Before my time has passed
I still believe she’ll come along
‘No need to wash my glass’
And if I end my time alone
And this guitar’s all I got
I’ll still be thankful for the life it gave
And for another shot

Only that you came
But in every place I get to
Whether from below or above
I’ll ask the barman
‘Kindly sir’
For another shot
Another shot of love
