THOSE WERE PEARLS

band was a bunch of mermaids
lead signer was a sea snake
the joint was jumpin'

FULL FATHOM FIVE
this jive was called
served the best drowned sailor's eyes

she didn't look like
the type who'd bump off a squid
but then for a million quid. . .

ok so she was
a cold blooded killer
but man could she play that horn

and when she
kissed me I was
solid gone

she took off her tail
too late I realised
she wasn't a mermaid

she was a siren
in disguise
her smile the last thing I saw
A what-done-it and a who-to-whom...down those mean backstreets of my mind after being to the Horniman Museum.
