Brushed aside
Pushed away
Distance growing
Where are you?
I hear you talking
all about your day
Can’t you hear me screaming?
Can’t you see me?
I’m smashing plates
Up in your face
Accusations loud as thunder
My anger overflows like
The rain barrel in the storm

You’re still talking
all about your day
I pull the paintings from the wall
Watch them as they fall
My tears streaming
I slam the door
No satisfaction
Slam it again

You’re still talking
All about your day
Quietly I exhale
Still sitting here
Next to you
Waiting for you to ask
about my day
But you don’t
