Jul 2013
i put my hope into you, unfounded.
listened to your day time laughs,
your late night chuckles,
your midnight whispers,
and cried to the dial tone.

i held your voice in every crevice
of my dead skin and bones.

broken,
(ha) as i always was,
i strained to hear your echoes.

i burned at the stake for you,
watched the world shake for you,
knew that i would break for you
and the crowds chanted 4...3...2...

1
and i'm here, still waiting
a new year and
nothing is fading.
pick up my call,
i need you.
pick up my call.

she's at the door but
please.

don't leave me.
new year's eve 2011. another memory. a bit abstract.
