Old age comes not by itself
But brings more in its train,
There's loneliness and weariness
There's sadness and there's pain
But when I'm at the boarding gate
About to leave this world,
I'll look back at my blessings
Ere the banner of life is furled
And the greatest and the only one
Whose passing I shall rue,
The one that's ever in my heart
My Darling, that is You.
