Could you love a girl made up of stormy weather
a heart heavier than the coal she bares inside her chest
she waits before the cold oceans
hoping they will wash away all that she knows best

Could you love a girl with tired veins
tired of carrying sickness and disease
that some will call self inflicted and others a tragedy
yet she says she holds it with such ease

Could you love a girl with no future
with no tomorrow
as she collapses into the aching waves
and drowns herself in their endless tides of sorrow
