this ego weighs heavy on my soul
unchained only through escape artist tactics...
thinking love could set me free
I set sail on a course for your heart
unaware your heart had it’s sights on another shore.

My Gut feels empty without you there
devoid of any spark that fed me
rapt in gluttonous pride
the savior of my heart--
love--
now an enemy of my united States..

Fate calls me close like an old friend
who has suddenly become an unwelcome guest;
renting space in the hole where you used to reside.

Resigned and ready I take the stage
