On the 5th day, the butterflies came to visit. I thought they’d only ask for a cup of warm water, I was very willing to give it so, but no, they didn’t ask for it. Instead, they stayed for hours ‘til midnight to have a conversation with me. If you’re going to ask me how many butterflies came, I wouldn’t know, not unless I’ll reminisce each moment and conversation.

The first butterfly expressed that he was very excited having a conversation with me. The second butterfly shared that he experienced weight loss which is a good thing because he is slightly overweight. I told him that it’s alright if he is slightly overweight. I actually find it cute. Here comes the third butterfly, and called me by my name. He got my attention and I said “yes?”, he quickly responded, “Nothing, I just missed you.”

The fourth butterfly got my attention by pulling the door which has a sign hanged on it that says push. Upon seeing that, I laughed a little. He saw me laughed and said “yeah, I’m a badass.”. The second butterfly asked me how I’m doing, and I told them my life events these past few days but this second butterfly interrupted me while saying, “you are very cute”.

Now I’m starting to wonder what are these butterflies up to?

The fifth butterfly was in silence since the beginning. He was only listening to us and out of the blue he asked me “do you love me?”, of course I responded quickly by saying, “yeah. Isn’t that what love is supposed to be? To be shared.” We both paused for a few seconds. He called me by my name and I said “yeah?”, then he said, “I hope no one will hurt you and if ever someone did, just tell me, I’ll fly all the way to where that person is and give him a knack that he deserves.”

My eyes are now teary. My heart started to float above the clouds as I watched the butterflies fly around my living room.

I asked the butterflies if they received the cute flower, I sent for them. The sixth butterfly answered, “you should’ve sent yourself. You’re way cuter than the flower tbh.”

Since when did this butterfly learned the acronym tbh?

After a few minutes, I got a call from the seventh butterfly sayin’ how sad he is for not being able to come and uttered the words, “if ever I’ll see you, I’ll hug you real tight”.

Of course, every visit has come to an end. They have to return to their homes as the night gets deeper. But before everyone left, I reminded them that what we have talked for hours, it should be left in my four-cornered living room.

The butterflies really made me happy, I wonder if they’ll come back.
