Wondering
Exhaustion takes hold as a suffocating headache.
My eyes burn from staring at screens.
The laundry is piling up and I stand at the edge of its oblivion.
There is so much I still need to complete.
Boxes of our belongings litter the hallways.
They stack against the walls everywhere I turn.
I feel as if it could all cave in.
I am lost under the rolling list of to-dos.
The pitter pater of little feet echo around me.
A tumbling laughter comes from the room nearby.
Down the staircase it flows like a waterfall
Directly into my soul to fill the aching gaps.
I wonder if I could use a break for an hour,
What is it all for
