Interlocking toes and whispering I love you,
Kissing each freckle on my face,
And my shoulders, and my legs.
Crying over books together,
And spooning to the sound of rain.
Skin on skin until you melt into each other’s bones,
Leaving tea ring upon tea ring on hearts.
My sails will always blow in your direction,
Although my ship may sail to other seas.
Forever, whether I like it or not,
You are the happiness in my blood and body.
Grains of sand stuck in shoes from beach days long ago.
