Life after the war
Life, love, and happiness
all these things I had before today
Now I go on knowing of the darkness
For the sake of families in the grey.
Bloodshed, war, and sorrow
A ****** plain filled with bones
Uncertain of a future or a tomorrow
Fighting in a field of sticks and stones.
All that I have is a gun and a blade
Against opposition twice our size
Bodies buried in masqueradesΒ
Husbands dead without a goodbye.
If ever I make it back
I would carry a lifelong scar
A part of my dreams turn to pitch black
While I live a life after the war.
