To My Muse

The weather makes it seem easy to disappear
The fog so dense that if you roll down
Your windows you feel like it could
Penetrate your lungs
Makes it enticing to think
What if when the fog lifted

It was a different place
Could you disappear without a trace?
Would you? Could you?
Could you do it, just leave?
Where would you go?
Where would you go?
I want to know!
Because if you do
I’d like to go with you
Wherever it may be

You see it takes two to tango
And I thought maybe you could be my
Dance partner
See if you promise you’ll walk to the edge
Of the universe with me just to see
If anything exists beyond it
I guess I’ll promise that I will be a star with you
But be weary
There will be bumps and
dips and sips of beverages that’ll make us lose our minds
There will be times that our knees feel weak
That our hearts begin to feel like they could break

But see, I will keep my promise
Even though there won’t be much to do
We will burn bright and feel each other’s warmth for eternity
Even though the people below will only see
Images of what we were thousands and thousands of years ago
It is okay, because I am here with you now and
When our time comes

We will go out with a bang
Our insides will combust and will
Turn inside out like the breaking
Of hearts
Won’t it be fantastic?!
That our colorful eye catching insides
Will be on display for
Thousands and thousands of years

We will be remembered
We will end like stars
And all the while I will
Be right here next to you

So as for my question…

Would you like to dance to the end and back?

To my muse
Wherever, whoever, whatever they may be

Would you like to dance to the end of the universe and back with me?
