Another father's day has passed
And I don't know your face
Don't know your height, don't know your eyes
Don't know your warm embrace

Another father's day has passed
And I have never seen
You working with machinery
Or if you drink caffeine

So many questions spinning round
Do you lay and gaze at stars
Do you ponder our existence
Do you wonder why we are?

Do you like the thought of fishing
Or how words on pages dance
Do you have a sweet tooth like me
Do you think of me perchance?

Is your face all lined with crinkles
From smiling way too much
Or is your face all gaunt and angled
From hard work and no soft touch

Are you grieving? Hungry? Stressing out?
Are you surrounded or alone
Are you still looking for a house
Or have you found a place called home

Does your smile light up your face
And are your eyes a brilliant blue
Does your hair stick up all over
I wish so badly that I knew

Someday my answers will appear
And my heart in peace will fill
Someday I'll know the reason why
My questions will be still

Another father's day has passed
Without me by your side
I'm sending you a special hug
With all my hopes inside
