Darkness writhes through islands of light
beneath a sky of flaming green.
Upon midnight’s chime, the sea fell still
reflecting lanterns of aquamarine.
Lily white moonchild of my dreams
hums her strain and dances in the streams.

Echoes glide through caverns of blue
beneath horizon’s comely thread.
She hovers ‘cross ripples of sun
as flickers grace the ocean bed.
Flowerboat lazing on ocher sand;
she sings of dawn amid her wonderland.

Zephyrs curl in the pine-shaded valley
beneath a dome of shattered clouds.
She lingers on the ribbon of rivers
waltzing in her lapis shrouds.
Twilight stretches o’er the levelled pool
knotted in the gleam of her summer jewel.
