Hello there dear stranger, I hope I didn’t give you a scare.
I was walking through this lonely world, and felt your pain over there.
I know you try to hide it, and grow scared when people draw near.
But I came here to say I know your pain, and I even know your fear.
I’ve been there when the ones you love, decide to end their life.
I’ve been there when there’s nothing left, but loneliness and strife.
I’ve been a child with innocence stolen, in the darkness of the night.
I’ve been there when the world seemed dark, despite the brightest light.
I’ve been there when that sadness turned, into anger and despair.
I’ve been there when the world is cruel, and shows it doesn’t care.
I’ve been there when the fear seeps in, frightened by your own mortality.
I’ve been there when you’re scared of existence, more than the next reality.
I’ve been there when you think it’s better, to be used than to be alone,
And I’ve been there when you think it’s better, to be made out of stone.
I’ve been the one to hurt others, though it is never what I want,
And this is just a tiny list, of all the pain I have to flaunt.
So please don’t forget I’m here for you, and I hope you try to see,
That though I am a stranger to you, your pain is no stranger to me.
