When you roll on your side,
Can you feel the frigid absence I left on the sheets ?
The night i stayed over, i packed everything i took with me
But I made sure to leave the bittersweet smell of commitment with you.
I want you to remember what I smelled like.
I want you to be the one who stays in the hot shower longer, maybe just to see if you could burn the sensation of my hands off your skin.
When you look down at your tea, i hope it reminds you of my eyes and how they always saw the best in you despite the worse you gave me
When all else fails and you leave your home to distract your thoughts about me
I hope you look up at the honey skies and be reminded of my skin and how it welcomed you like home
But then I remember,
I’m the one that’s cold.
