Her barefoot patter on the floor,
My straining ears do hear no more,
So I will cut in half what minutes waste,
Those memories of her smiling face,
To be bound up tightly then be placed,
In a warm sunbeam outside my door,
To be released then gently in the night,
When once again my love arrives.
