As I walked out of the room
My legs now heavy to take another step
The door slammed at my face
I had just met another roadblock
Only that this time, the dagger was stuck deep in my chest.

This was meant to be my final break
A breakthrough I had envisaged
I had the best performance or so I thought
Another lesson of failure added to the list.

I compromised a lot to make this work
Feeling of affection I was so sure was mutual
On a cold morning I got a rude awakening
I had just been traded for another.

But I raise my head up
My pride still intact
A point to prove that these lessons are just chapters
The fuel that drives me to the beautiful ever after.

I dare not back down from these challenges
I dare to create new pathways beyond the roadblock
The detours is just a small price to pay
For a meaningful end to a sweet story.
